Craftsmanship

Four Grant side chairs and one solid White Oak pedestal top ship with this set, and the pedestal base is what makes the arrangement work. White Oak is milled through-and-through for the top rather than laminated over a substrate, so there is real wood at every point where a fork could scratch or a mug could sweat. The American Antique stain darkens the wood enough to hide surface dust without masking the grain.

How It Fits

Care

Solid White Oak refinishes cleanly. If the surface takes damage a decade in, a light sand and a fresh coat of American Antique restores the tabletop to close-to-original condition without replacing the piece. Wipe spills promptly rather than letting them stand; White Oak’s open grain will absorb liquid over time if pooled.
