    Live Edge Table (Sahara Base)

    About This Piece

If your dining space wants a table that reads as a single wood slab rather than a manufactured surface, this one delivers. The top is a 2-inch thick piece of figured maple, 38 inches by 78, with the live edge left intact along the length. It rests on a Sahara base that lets the top do the visual work.

    At a Glance

Figured maple runs light with a distinct chatoyance in the grain, the kind of movement that changes with the angle of the light. We finish it in a natural stain with espresso fill worked into the voids and checks, and cure the whole surface at a #10 sheen. That reads as low-luster, close to matte, but still protective.

    Why It Works

Figured maple is dense enough to handle everyday use without denting quickly, and the epoxy fill locks moisture out of the natural voids so the slab stays stable through seasonal humidity swings. The Sahara base is engineered to carry that 2-inch top without any flex under load. Every slab we cut reads a little different, which means no two Live Edge tables ship as duplicates.

    Pairs Well With

This table plays nicely with upholstered dining chairs in a warm neutral. Because the top is the visual anchor, matched wood chairs can compete with it rather than complement it. Browse our dining room lineup to see what else fits into a live-edge-forward room build.
